2014 marks the 10th Anniversary of More Art. Yes, it’s true. It has been 10 years! Ten years of joyful, inspiring, invigorating, enlivening experiences and a lot of hard work by everyone involved. In honor of a decade providing engaging and meaningful public art and educational programs to the community at large, we are hosting our biggest and most important benefit yet. Join us on November 5th, Wednesday at Prince George* (15 E. 27th Street, between 5th and Madison).

Feed More Art to the World Award Honorees

We are honored to present the 2014 “Feed More Art to the World” Award to Artist Fred Wilson and Philanthropist Shelley Rubin.

Fred Wilson is a conceptual artist whose artistic practice includes painting, sculpture and photography. He is known for his sculptures in glass and for his site-specific installations in collaboration with museums and cultural institutions throughout North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Wilson is a 1999 MacArthur Fellow and represented the United States at the 2003 Venice Biennale.

Shelley Rubin is a philanthropist and cultural leader who believes art and cultural enrichment have the power to change lives. In 2004, Shelley and Donald Rubin opened the Rubin Museum of Art in NYC to host art from the Himalayas and India. She is co-chair of the Shelley & Donald Rubin Found., and founded A Blade of Grass, the first funding non-profit solely dedicated to supporting socially engaged art, in 2011.
