Back to the Block features up-and-coming local musicians. Performances feature singer/songwriter Lizzie No and Bronx native hip hop artists Circa ’95. Lizzie No is a local musician and vocalist with a unique sound who has recently performed at the Bronx Museum Boogie on the Boulevard festival. Circa ’95’s quintessentially New York hip-hop sound comprised of performers Patty Dukes and Reph who rhyme seamlessly in English and Spanish. They are currently resident artists at Carnegie Hall. Numerous students from the Chhandayan Center For Indian Music will play a sampling of North Indian Music. Chhandayan was started in 1984 in Calcutta, India. In 1998 it was re-established in the United States as a not-for-profit organization.
