Spring Internship 2024

Are you Interested in public art? Passionate about social change? Join More Art’s team and get hands-on experience organizing, promoting, and producing dynamic public art projects across New York City.

As a More Art Intern, you will be an integral part of our small yet ambitious team. Each intern will experience what it is like to work with both curators and artists; play a key role in developing community partnerships; and gain insight into what it takes to conceptualize and implement large-scale projects.

More Art’s semester-long internships are open to undergrads, grad students, and recent graduates.

More than anything, we’re looking for people with high energy and an abiding interest in cultural change. The ideal candidate has great writing skills, attention to detail, knowledge of Google Workspace, social media platforms, and new technologies. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud programs and WordPress is a plus. Though these skills are preferred, we encourage all who are interested to apply, regardless of experience level or skillset.

+ About More Art

More Art is a non-profit arts organization that fosters collaborations between artists and communities to create thought-provoking public art and educational programs that inspire social justice.

PUBLIC ART

Since 2004, More Art has worked with some of the world’s most celebrated artists including Joan Jonas, Pablo Helguera, Dread Scott, Krzysztof Wodiczko, Ernesto Pujol, and Andres Serrano, to produce a wide range of artworks in public spaces that reflect the concerns and challenges of various NYC communities. Our projects amplify the voices of vulnerable and underrepresented New Yorkers, from all ages and backgrounds, in order to speak truth to power about social and political issues affecting their lives.

ENGAGING ARTISTS FELLOWSHIP

Each year More Art selects a diverse cohort of NYC-based emerging artists to participate in a professional development program and public art commission that merges art with activism. More Art assists each fellow in developing a deeper understanding of socially-engaged art, while providing them with in-depth support as they jump-start long-term practices.
