Corinne Cappelletti

Corinne Cappelletti is a performer, teacher and maker of dance as well as Somatic Movement Therapist based in Brooklyn, NY. She began place-based research with Terry Tempest Williams during a 10-day Ecology of Residence. Corinne became a Certified Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analyst (CLMA ’08) and earned her MFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah (2009), for which she devised a performance-based community development model. This durational, social experiment: The New Pedestrian (SLC, Utah, Aix-en-Provence, France) was further developed for Carry your Burdens (Art in Odd Places: Ritual, NYC 2011). In 2009, Corinne designed and co-facilitated a stress-management program through portraiture and somatic awareness to enhance cultural tolerance and positive self-image with fourteen teenagers as a Community-based Research/ Arts and Social Justice ArtsBridge Scholar.
