about the project.

Tim Rollins began the workshop by showing the kids a 1960s film of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Afterwards, the kids realized watercolor renderings of Shakespeare’s magical flower, which they attached on loose pages from the book. Within the book, the flower has the power to make one fall in love with the first living creature seen upon awakening.

“In my intense workshop with More Art, inspired by Shakespeare’s immortal A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the participants created small watercolors that were collage upon a printed page from the play along with one tiny mustard seed, a symbol of creative faith in imagination, and a joyous, hopeful self.”

A Midsummer Night’s Dream was exhibited at the Bohen Foundation, New York, in 2005.
