Matthew Waldman accompanied the kids on a photographic discovery of Chelsea, in search of urban hiding places for mythical “fairies.” Little hand-drawn fairies were digitally inserted in the final photograph, which was displayed in a 10-foot long light box.
“Taking a class of NYC middle school students on a fairy hunt in Chelsea with not one mention of how ironic it could be construed was a magic moment i will never forget.”
