The collaboration, promoted by More Art, between Chelsea Opera, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the production of high quality, affordable operas accessible to all members of the community, and students of the Clinton Middle School has ended on a high note with the students attending the dress rehearsal for Chelsea Opera’s latest production, Madama Butterfly,
Clinton Middle School started a project in collaboration with Chelsea Opera. For the first session the kids took a look at the events leading to the creation of the opera (John Long’s story, David Belasco’s play); learned the characters – who’s who in the opera, relationships, character profile and synopsis of the opera.
Clinton Middle School students tried to imagine scenes suggested by movie soundtracks. The kids spent the entire afternoon listening to famous soundtracks of great movies like Forrest Gump, The Piano, The Blues Brothers, Pirates of the Caribbean, Titanic, and others!
